This design was inspired by the terraced vineyards that surround the Wachau Valley. We used this terraced pattern as a place to sit, while inverted it is used as shading. To connect users to nature, we use organic materials such as wood and grow vegetation such as vines and trees from the top. The curved shape allows for programs such as gatherings and vender sales as well as private activities and resting. We maximize green spaces through changing the current paved surface. As people walk through the Kunstmeile, these terraces frame the museums in view, while allowing them to slow down and enjoy the space.
